‘Towards an AI University: How AI and related technologies are transforming Higher Education’

Professor Domingue delivered the first of three keynote presentations at 2023's instalment of the Staffordshire University Research Innovation and Enterprise Conference.

'The core mission of any university is to generate, disseminate and preserve knowledge. As with the invention of the printing press and the web, Generative AI, as exemplified by ChatGPT, adds to our definition of where knowledge can be found. To, 'in the contents of a book’, and 'in the results of a Google search’, we can now add ‘in a conversation with a Generative AI model’.
