Paul Desmond and Dave Brubeck created a masterpiece with Take Five. Paul's solo is based on motifs and space. It's short and simple, yet one of the best solos in jazz history.

This is a detailed, note for note guitar tutorial of the guitar transcription of the Take Five solo.

If you ever wondered, how to play Take Five solo on guitar, this is the perfect guitar lesson for you. I show everything slow and in detail. I explain what scales Paul used and what patterns we're in.

Paul Desmond's Take Five solo for guitar features great motifes and phrasing. It shows, how the chords are being outlined, as well as using the Eb dorian scale in a tasty manner.

I've tried to make a close guitar transcription of Take 5 solo. Of course we can't play the same glissandi, Paul used, but we try to mimic it and make it a great guitar solo.
