Nederland: This town's name, Dutch for "low land," refers to it being lower than the mining camps above it. It began as a stage stop and later thrived as a supply center for the nearby Tungsten mining district. It's now known for its unique culture and the annual "Frozen Dead Guy Days" festival.

Boulder: At the end of our drive lies Boulder, a city defined by the 1859 Gold Rush and its subsequent decision to establish the University of Colorado in 1876, balancing frontier development with a unique commitment to preserving its natural beauty.
