Shielhill Glen Cave. Greenock, Scotland. A Hidden Gem.

My Sis & I walked from her house at the back of Inverkip through the fields and under the railway line to moorhouse Road where we passed a stunning old Roman Bridge over the Kip water.

And then headed up the Loch Thom road and then at the bad bend cut down the steep grassy slope to get to the Shielhill Cave.

It's a stunning sight, I never knew it existed until my Sis told me about it.

It's a cave underneath a huge overhanging rock that was modified in the 1930's, it's been called the smugglers or pirates cave.

It has hooks in the roof that looks as though folk hang their hammocks from them, a fireplace looks as if it's being built, plenty of old carvings in the wall to.

Very interesting to see.
