Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania

Описание к видео Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania

This video was filmed on January 1st, 2023 in my hometown of Marcus Hook, Pennsylvania. Marcus Hook calls itself the “Cornerstone of Pennsylvania” as it sits on the border of Claymont, Delaware. In the early 1700’s, Marcus Hook was a haven for pirates. Early maps of Marcus Hook show the current Second Street was originally named “Discord Lane”
since it’s where the pirates went to party when they were in town. According to local oral tradition, the Marcus Hook Plank House was once the home of the mistress of the pirate Blackbeard.
I lived in Marcus Hook in 1971-1972 when I was 7 & 8 years old. My mother and I moved back to Marcus Hook from 1976 until she passed away in November of 1984. I remained in Marcus Hook for 8 months after she died, until July, 1985. I was 21 when I moved out of Marcus Hook and 29 when I left Chichester Township in 1993. Marcus Hook is located in Lower Chichester Township. I have many fond memories of my youth in Marcus Hook. I spent all of my teenage years in this riverfront town. In this video I discuss my memories of Marcus Hook when I grew up in this town in the 1970’s and early 1980’s. Enjoy!
