If over half of the population menstruates, why are we still grossed out by periods? While the answer is tied to years of shame and stigma, the antidote lies in education and body literacy. Kate Morton, RD, explores how positive and medically accurate menstrual education can change the way the world views menstruation and help eliminate period stigma for future generations. Kate Morton is a Registered Dietitian, founder of Funk It Wellness – a seed cycling company for menstruators – SXSW speaker, and menstrual health advocate. In less than two years, Kate has grown Funk It to a six-figure business by creating nutritionally sound products and menstrual education programming for thousands of women. Kate’s mission is to empower all menstruators to have autonomy over their bodies and learn to make peace with their diet and cycles. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
