Tour the 2011 Purvis Young: Faces of Young Exhibit at the Goggleworks Center for the Arts, Cohen Gallery. This collection is presented by George Viener and Tim Grumbacher.

Purvis Young (1943-2010), Miami, FL, became a voice for Civil Rights using vivid colors and bold brushwork while painting often on whatever materials were available. This exhibit engages the viewer in an educational and historical exploration of icons in Young´s work. The "Faces of Young" includes more than 25 works from the 1970s through 2004 as well as a documentary of his life that was released in 2006. This traveling exhibition was curated by Helen Domenic in cooperation with the Outsider Folk Art Gallery, Reading, PA, and made its debut at Cheyney PA, earlier this year.
