Badminton's INSANE 30 Year Journey to the Olympics Part 1

How did badminton become an Olympic sport?

On the outset this seemed like quite an easy question to answer. I knew the general story pretty well so thought with some padding out and interesting inside information this could make a nice, little video in time for the Paris Games.

How wrong I could have been...

The more I read, the crazier the story got, with it lasting almost 3 decades and involving fighting, political strife, boycotts, a split in the badminton world and even lawsuits!

This story was so massive that I decided it had to be broken into parts.

So, here's part 1, where I lay out the early beginnings where badminton went from hopeful Olympic candidate to an uncertain future as a sport.
