Today is World Hypnosis Day (4 January) — an international awareness day dedicated to improving public understanding of hypnosis and hypnotherapy.
This short video has been created by the New Zealand Association of Professional Hypnotherapists (NZAPH) to support informed awareness of hypnosis as a natural state of focused attention and learning.
Hypnosis is not about control or losing awareness. It is a natural mental state many people experience in everyday life — such as when deeply focused, reflective, or absorbed in thought. Hypnotherapy works respectfully with this state within ethical and professional frameworks.
