The Konik horse is a breed of small, semi-feral horses that originated in Poland. They are descended from the now-extinct Tarpan, a wild horse that once roamed Europe. The Konik horse is known for its hardy nature, adaptability, and intelligence, which makes them ideal for living in natural environments.

Today, Konik horses are used in conservation efforts to restore and maintain natural ecosystems. They are particularly useful in wetland areas where their grazing and trampling help to manage vegetation and maintain biodiversity. Despite their important role in conservation, Konik horses are relatively unknown outside of their native Poland.
