For games like Overwatch, League of Legends, Street Fighter and VALORANT, a scenario where their games die and fail as an eSport is their developers absolute worst nightmare, especially in an era where the expectation is that every new multiplayer game release eventually turns into a hyper competitive Esport, but I feel like that expectation has clouded the judgment of not just a wide part of the gaming community, but even the developers of these games themselves, and I can’t help but feel like both sides are missing the point.

In this video, I will go through the things that people seem to think make good & successful eSports, but are actually not necessary.
