ELECTIONS 2024 | The role of political parties' youth structures

South Africa's youth, a key voting constituency in this month's elections, are generally not optimistic about the future of their country. That's according to the Ichikowitz Family Foundation's survey. The two biggest triggers for South African youth are corruption and the difficulty in finding a job. However, the youth still believe in democracy.
In fact, nearly half of them say they are going to vote on May 29.
As we continue to track young people's election participation, our focus today is on the role of political parties' youth structures in ensuring young people's voices are represented in our democracy.
