Описание к видео Single Insulated cables in meter boxes comply with BS7671 and are industry agreed... REALLY?

Lots of chat around meter boxes of late and I should say back in 2014 ish we worked alongside local building control having circa 300 boxes like the one in the thumbnail changed.

Ive raised countless questions over the years around industry opinion on this topic.

Best practice guide 4 has this as a C3 in version 6 now an "obs" in version 7.1. NICEIC have suggested industry have agreed meter cupboards are electrical enclosures. Which by default means no code could be applied. NAPIT have it as a C2.

My frustration with the conflict between BPG4 stems from the time I had this issue with a new build estate local to me. Interestingly BPG changed in 2023 to no code, just an observation. Perhaps a freedom of information request as to why would be useful. You can see version 6 here https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org... and version 7.1 here https://www.electricalsafetyfirst.org... every trail leads somewhere.

See what I think and how bad this reflects on us as an industry.

I have written to parliament again on this the other week, have ongoing discussion with OFGEM, ENA, energy retailers, DNOs, other elements of "industry" and most importantly other electricians.

Some try to quieten this down with accusations of "emotional topic" and such. I have seen the beast that can be the "industry mafia" try to quell and manipulate what other elements of industry are saying and even individual electricians.

This wont work here.

Im interested to hear what others think and have an engaging public chat about this and other issues.
