The Poco F5 camera system is OK for its budget/midrange price with an adequate 64 megapixel main sensor and a passable 8 megapixel ultra wide. It can shoot 4K video at 30 fps from the main sensor and stabilization is decent, besides the annoying rippling in shakier footage. Poco F5 GCam does not improve the stabilization unfortunately.

There are some downsides discovered in this Xiaomi Poco F5 Camera Test. Mainly the Poco F5 5g selfie camera--it's not great for photos or videos. Also, its video resolution is capped at 1080.

GCam can help turn things around though! In terms of the Poco F5 GCam vs stock cam the BSG port (with BigKaka config file) really helps save some night shots and doesn't suffer from blown out highlights. Xiaomi Poco F5 GCam also improves the selfie camera.

Updates may improve the Poco F5 camera, but at this point it is just not a great camera phone (even though the Poco F5 Gcam is an improvement). The Google Pixel 6a, Pixel 7a, or even the Realme 10 Pro Plus will easily take better shots for around the same or lower price.
