What Are The BEST Scuba Courses To Take? | Surface Interval

Scuba training is structured like a tree; you have the main core courses that teach you the basics and then you can branch-off onto many tens or even hundreds of specialities. You can do a speciality course in just about any aspect of scuba diving. Wanna go diving on a boat? There’s a boat speciality. Wanna go diving at night? There’s the Night Specialty.

There’s, honestly, very little stopping you from going scuba diving at night, or in a drysuit, without a certification. If you’re renting a drysuit they may ask to see your cert, but if you’re buying one, I’ve never been asked to produce one. But specialities will expand your knowledge and skills in a safe environment. Sure, you can buy a drysuit and jump in the water, but it’s much safer if you do the speciality first.
