Six Teams To Watch Out For In UEFA's First Qualifying Rounds (2024-25 Season) - The Matchday Man

It's only been a matter of weeks since the European club season closed with Real Madrid beating Borussia Dortmund at Wembley.
The new season comes around quick though, and we're back underway with the earliest rounds of qualifying in all of UEFA's three senior men's competitions, the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Conference League.

Qualifying throughout July and August is largely what it was before, but leads to a new-look main stage format, a 36-team league phase for each competition. 42 have already booked their spots, and there's 66 places left to find.

The first weeks of July bring us the First Qualifying Round of all three competitions, showcasing a fantastic mix of familiar faces and newcomers from Europe's lower-ranked nations. In this video, we'll take a look at six in particular, two from each competition, and tell the story of how they got to where they are.
