How to play Wii games online after WFC shutdown! Tutorial on various Wiimmfi patchers!

Nintendo has officially shut down Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection now, but all is not lost... you can play your Wii games online again using Wiimmfi, a custom server, as demonstrated by the methods shown in this video. It's pretty much a fix for Error Code 20110! :)

IMPORTANT, REGARDING ERROR CODES BEGINNING 238XX: Players who are using Dolphin instead of a real console, or those who have a significantly modified Wii or Wii U console, may receive an Error Code beginning with 238XX when trying to connect to Wiimmfi for the first time. This error, designed to help reduce the amount of online cheating, means that you need to wait 1 week before you can play. If you get this error, you will be able to connect up properly 1 week after you receive it for the first time. The vast majority of normal consoles will not receive this error. TO REITERATE THE POINT BECAUSE THERE ARE A LOT OF DUMB PEOPLE WHO DON'T WATCH VIDEOS ALL THE WAY THROUGH OR DO ANY READING WHATSOEVER: If you get Error Code 60000, it means your FC can't be used. To fix it, start a new save file. Or license, if Mario Kart Wii.

I, uh, never made one in the end. Nowadays you can get Wiimmfi quite easily without one, so... it's probably no longer necessary.


So, the time is upon us! It is time to leave our (beloved?) Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and play games on a new service. Fortunately, we can still play the Wii games, if you know what to do, as we have a custom server waiting for us called Wiimmfi!

Wiimmfi is made by Wiimm and Leseratte, with the help of countless others. It is a replacement server for Nintendo WFC that offers vastly the same functionality as the original service, give or take a few extra fluffy features.

This video covers all the details of how you can connect to this new server and continue playing your Wii games online. Supported games include Mario Kart Wii, Super Smash Bros. Keep an eye on that page, as more games might appear on it as well than what there is there now.

Watch the video carefully, as it's full of good information about several things, including error codes you might get during connection. Comments about Error Codes 23921 and 60000 in particular will be ignored :P
