1999 🇨🇺 Cuba vs Brazil 🇧🇷 🏐 Women Volleyball 🏐 BCV Montreux Volley Masters

Montreux Volley Masters (Or BCV) was the first warm up tournament before World Grand Prix in 90s. It held around May to June before WGP. In 90s, most players mainly played in their country league locally or train in national team.
It didn't happen a situation that players finished the league in mid May then back to national team to play series of warm up games right after the season ended nowadays. So, even it was a warm up game, players performance wasn’t too bad in this tournament.
Post-Match Commentary :
In 1999, Brazil, China, Japan and USA assigned in the same pool. First two rank teams will enter semi-final to play against other pool top 2 teams (Canada, Cuba, Italy, Russia). This was semi-final match.
1999 Cuba team without Torres and Luis, two core players in 1998 world championship. In this match, #1 Ruiz, #8 Bell, #14 Fernandez played a very simple volleyball given their receive wasn't too bad to win against Brazil. It's weird that Cuba won a lot in this tournament but lost a lot in the subsequent event - World Grand Prix in the 90s.
