In this video, I’ll walk you through everything you need to do if you want to join someone in Splatoon 3 LAN mode via XLink Kai. This can be helpful if you don’t want to get banned when using mods, or if you are already banned (like me). This method disconnects you from the Nintendo servers, so it’s safe to use. Enjoy :D

I forgot to show you the configuration options at the top. Make sure to enable automatic UPNP port forwarding. Keep everything else on default.

Possible reasons why you can’t see or join others:
Your Switch and laptop/PC are not connected to the same wifi.
You are using a different version than others on any program or game.
You’re not in the right lobby or not using LAN mode. Keep in mind to press and hold ZL, ZR, and L Stick for 3 seconds in THE SHOAL.
You’re using the wrong IP code or an IP code for a different game. I recommend setting all IP codes to automatic. Ignore 1:07 – 1:53 of this video.
Your Switch or KaiLoopBackBridge.exe is not connected. Check Metrics at the top to confirm both are connected. Windows you have to keep open: XLink Kai Game Arena + KaiLoopBackBridge.exe

Final reason:
You are too far away in terms of distance from other players. There is no possible fix for this at the moment.

I’ve loved playing Mario and Splatoon games ever since I was a kid. I used to play tons of Mario and party games on my Wii and 2DS, like Mario Kart 7, Mario Kart Wii, Mario Party 8, 9, The Top 100, Island Tour, Wii Party, Super Mario Maker, and more.
Especially Super Mario Maker 1 was my most played game until the Nintendo Switch came out.
At that point, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and Super Mario Odyssey became the games I played the most.
I also owned Splatoon 2 back then, but I stopped playing it by the end of 2017.

In 2019, Super Mario Maker 2 released and I loved it so much! But when Nintendo announced the final update just a few months after launch, I thought: “Already?”
So in the middle of COVID19 (around mid 2020), I got bored of Super Mario Maker 2 and decided to try a game I hadn’t played in years: Splatoon 2.
After three years, I came back, and stayed.
After just a few days, I realized how much fun it really was, even though all the events had already passed.

Now, five years later, I’ve become a stick control pro player in Splatoon 3, and in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe I’ve reached the Benelux Top 20 three times in the Seasonal Benelux Tournaments, with my highest placement being 11th out 1000-2000 players.

I’m still passionate about these games every single day, creating content, improving my skills, and sharing my love for gaming with others.
