This is a long video walking through the upgrade and replacement of the trigger switch on the older drills, it was hard to find the instructions and information online besides the newer part number, Big things of note, the brush wires are reversed from the older switch, and the module wires have to be re-routed because of a screw terminal on the side of the newer switch.
I also teardown the older broken switch to see what failed in it.
