Reviewing the Krabby Patty Meal from Wendy’s

Introduction:
Wendy’s launched the Krabby Patty Meal on October 8th, and it’s something I’ve been eager to try. It’s been on my list, and I finally circled back to give it a go. The meal comes with a pineapple milkshake, fries, and, of course, the Krabby Patty itself. There’s a video showing how a Krabby Patty is supposed to be assembled, but I think Wendy’s missed a key moment to add an extra touch of realism and really show they care about the experience more than just marketing.

The Krabby Patty:
While it’s clear this isn’t an actual Krabby Patty, I feel Wendy’s could’ve done more to capture the excitement and stay true to the iconic sandwich. They could have followed the Krabby Patty rules, maybe even studied how SpongeBob builds the Krabby Patty, and come up with something unique instead of just assembling a regular burger with a few tweaks and calling it a Krabby Patty. For example, there was no mention of Krabby Patty sauce in SpongeBob, even though we know it’s part of the experience.

Krabby Patty Sauce:
Now, let’s talk about the sauce. It was basically Thousand Island dressing, but much runnier—this sauce was drippy. It tasted identical to the sauce on In-N-Out burgers in California and elsewhere, but the consistency didn’t work for me. It didn’t add anything to the burger, nor did it take away, but since the burger patty itself lacked flavor, it felt like the sauce was just there, not enhancing the experience. Overall, I was disappointed with the burger, and that’s why I gave it a 3 out of 10. I can’t recommend it.

Fries:
The fries are just your standard Wendy’s fries. There was nothing special about them, so I won’t rate them.

Pineapple Milkshake:
The pineapple milkshake, however, was fantastic. It tasted like a delicious pineapple creamsicle, and if I had the option between this and an orange creamsicle milkshake, I would pick the pineapple one every time. It was amazing and easily gets a 10 out of 10 from me. I also thought it was creative for them to include a pineapple milkshake, given that SpongeBob’s house is a pineapple—props to Wendy’s for that.
