Revit Tutorial - Beginners Series - Part 1: Introduction and Personalization

Here is a multi-part Revit tutorial series for beginners or returning Revit users.
Imagined you just walked into your first day at your new job and people are just clicky clacking away at their computer, zooming around floor plans, and pulling up 3D views of their projects. You peer over their shoulder and see them ripping through Revit as if they've used it all their life. You then sit down at your desk and see this weird icon with the word Revit under it. You stare at it like deer in headlights. Then you open up Google Chrome, go to YouTube, and wind up here.

Grab some coffee, a notepad, and a pencil. I will give you a complete overview of how Revit works and show you around. There are so many rabbit holes we can go down into, but I will try my darndest to keep this moving along. Each topic can be a 20-minute video in and of itself, so this series will scratch the surface of every topic. Once you are comfortable enough to ask the right questions, I would suggest you dive into the Revit Review series so you can learn about the nitty-gritty details of each function that pertain to your task. Learn as you work so you can practice what you learn.

Remember, this is how I use Revit at my specific company. I teach by work experience, not from a coursebook. Sometimes the ideal way to do something doesn't always pan out because of human error. We have to account for sloppy work by others, or even by ourselves when it is late on a Friday night. Bear with me while we try to handle this monster of a program. Just kidding, it's not that terrifying.
