2011 Indianapolis 500 - Andretti Autosport's day was going from bad to worse. Going into the final day, the only driver on the team with a secured spot was their one-off entry, John Andretti. Danica Patrick, Marco Andretti, Mike Conway, and Ryan Hunter-Reay all had to earn their spot. With 41 cars entered, 8 drivers were going to be sent home

Danica was set to go but the rain arrived, putting her chances in jeopardy. The track did dry in time, and she would safely qualify

Mike Conway used all three attempts before the final sequence and he could not find the speed, thus sending him home

Alex Lloyd of Dale Coyne Racing, who hadn't showed much speed, threw down four mega laps to get into the field, thus bumping Marco Andretti

Marco would end up being the last car to go, and he would make his way into the field, thus bumping teammate Ryan Hunter-Reay out

In another dramatic twist, Michael Andretti would buy a seat at AJ Foyt Racing for RHR, thus displacing the qualified Bruno Junqueira from the field
