Hi there everyone !

One week ago, we released the new HURAKAN album "Via Aeterna" through Lacerated Enemy Records.

As you may have noticed if you already listened to it, the music style is different and this album starts a new era for the band.

We felt we had done what we wanted to do in the slam, and we wanted to fit in more with the musical universe of the new line-up with Danny's latest arrival on vocals, and mine previously.

So this is "Imperium" the opening track of the album.
It is the fourth track we've written, and it seemed logical that it should take its place at the start of the list with its rising and explosive intro.

Same goes with the featuring of Kyle Anderson of Brand Of Sacrifice, which is adding these brutal vocals and ridiculously low growls ! We know what to expect from this album when we hear that first song !

Thanks to my friend Philippe Parickmiler (@daynightpicture), the opening riff makes total sense. The composed orchestrations transform and elevate the music to a whole new level, both in atmosphere and melody.

The main challenge I faced when producing this track was the creation of the sound design for the whole section before the final breakdowns at 3:38.

When we had composed the song, there was the idea of extending the empty passage and adding the rising vocals to start the last minute of breakdowns.

So I had an eight second gap to fill with atmosphere, choosing the right samples to fit the lyrics, adding layers of percussions to keep the intention of the tempo change and keep the suspense of what's going to happen next.

And last but not least, the little detail that makes all the difference is the single piano note at 3:17 when the instruments stop. Who heard it ?
