কখনো ইতিহাস, কখনো আবার বর্তমান সমাজের নানান সমস‍্যার চালচিত্র, তাঁর নির্মিত ছবিতে বিষয়বস্তুর গভীরতা থাকে যথেষ্ট। তা সে 'চোলাই' হোক বা 'হীরালাল', কিংবা 'বিনয়-বাদল-দীনেশ', প্রতিটি ছবি নির্মাণের পেছনে এক দীর্ঘ গবেষণা, কঠোর পরিশ্রম এবং সততার গল্প থাকে। পরিচালক অরুণ রায়ের ছবির প্রতিটি ফ্রেম যেন সে কথাই বলে। তাই তাঁর ছবি বানানো এবং ছবি মুক্তির ক্ষেত্রে অহেতুক তাড়াহুড়ো থাকে না। অরুণ রায় এই সময়ের একজন মননশীল সিনেমা পরিচালক। অথচ তাঁর এই পরিচালক হয়ে ওঠার পেছনে রয়েছে এক দীর্ঘ লড়াইয়ের গল্প। দীর্ঘদিনের সাধনা আর হাল না ছেড়ে দেওয়ার মানসিকতা থেকেই আজ তিনি সফল। আজকের জোশ Talks এর মঞ্চে আমাদের সঙ্গে রয়েছেন পরিচালক অরুণ রায়।
