Why Jesus was human not God. The pagan philosopher Porphyry on the flaws in the gospel stories in particular on Jesus crucifixion and 'resurrection' . Porphyry the famous 4th century critic of Christianity wrote on the Christians elevating Jesus’ to divine status.
His book ‘Against the Christians’ was banned by the Christian Roman Emperors after his death but some of his work still survives. In his book he makes telling points using the gospel stories themselves to highlight the weaknesses of the narratives.
The video also contains some of the counter arguments that Christian Macarius Magnes, Justin Martyr, St. Augustine and other Church fathers and Christian theologians tried to use to refute his points.
Porphyry along with Celsus and the pagan Emperor Julian (the Apostate) led the way in the 3rd and 4th Century in criticising Christianity as this religion spread through the Roman Empire.
