The Armenian Genocide: Origins, Factors and Repercussions - Bedross Der Matossian

Описание к видео The Armenian Genocide: Origins, Factors and Repercussions - Bedross Der Matossian

The arrest of 250 Armenians in April of 1915 was the start of a massacre. That massacre helped inform the creation of a new word, genocide, in 1944. Join Dr. Bedross Der Matossian, Associate Professor of Modern Middle East Studies at the University of Nebraska and President of the Society for Armenian Studies as he explores the historical background, differing interpretations, the magnitude and the repercussions of the Armenian Genocide.

This event, part of The World War I in the Middle East Summer Institute for K-12 Educators, has been made possible in part by a major grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities.
