A Huntsville woman has started a company that could save lives across Madison County.

Selena Boyd is the founder of Created 2 Care, an organization that provides non-emergency medical transportation to the community. The word CARE stands for Connect, Aspire, Restore and Equip, which is what Boyd hopes to do for the community.

"Right now we are providing non-emergency medical transportation to the community," Boyd said. "So we take our clients to something as simple as the pharmacy, or chemo and radiation treatments, physical therapy, dialysis... whatever they're needing that's non- emergent."

Boyd thought of the idea in college, and brought it to life after graduating. Created 2 Care has been in the works since February 2020, but the pandemic slowed down the opening until October 2020.

This is not a free service, but Created 2 Care does accept insurance. Same day appointments can be made by reaching out using their website.

C2C also encourages friends and family members of patients to ride along with them. They travel across the state of Alabama, and are always willing to lend a helping hand.
