Empower Chattanooga is focused on connecting residents in East Chattanooga, East Lake, Highland Park to services with a focus on energy efficiency. Plus, we've expanded to four counties: Polk, Rhea, Meigs, and McMInn!

Empower Chattanooga is a grassroots initiative focused on connecting residents in East Chattanooga, Highland Park, East Lake and surrounding smaller neighborhoods to services and programs with an emphasis on increasing energy efficiency in the homes.
Homes in these neighborhoods consumed more energy per square foot than other homes in Chattanooga especially during the winter months. This can be attributed to the age of the homes and equipment, amount of insulation along with other factors like windows, doors and gaps.
By decreasing the utility bill in the homes, the occupants are able to spend those dollars in other items like better food, healthcare, or education.
But Empower Chattanooga realizes that energy efficiency is just a piece of the pie. For true sustainability, a neighborhood must have economic and social sustainability along with the environmental aspects. Empower Chattanooga is collaborating with other non-profits and government organizations to connect residents to services that they need and want.
