Melia Durres promise on their website a unique gastronomic experience with Merkado buffet as a general option and other 4 options for alternative lunches and dinners. But that's just the website.
In reality the hotel has only 2 alternative dining options: Casa Nostra (Italian) with unexpected good food and service and Cape Nao (Mediterranean) with food from the buffet on an up-graded plating.
But don't get very excited because to experience those 2 venues you need to go to a very '70s booking process, most of the time are fully booked (despite the fact that every lunch and dinner I saw plenty of empty tables - cutting costs maybe?) and you need a mysterious voucher (until the end of my stay didn't manage to find out from where, from who and what are those vouchers)
So Bye Bye alternative dinning, welcome back Merkado indigestion!
