LBC sees the opportunity to create new jobs in the deconstruction field. To that end it is creating a workforce development program to train individuals to work in this emerging industry. Lifecycle Building Center is committed to being part of the Asset-Based Community Development approach in the communities we serve.

Asset-Based Community Development (ABCD) is a community-driven approach that focuses on identifying and mobilizing existing strengths, skills, and resources within a community rather than emphasizing its needs or deficiencies. By leveraging local assets—such as individuals’ talents, community associations, local institutions, and physical and economic resources—ABCD empowers residents to drive their own development and solutions.

It encourages collaboration, builds stronger social networks, and promotes sustainable change from within. Rather than relying solely on external aid, ABCD fosters a sense of ownership, resilience, and self-reliance, helping communities recognize their potential and create positive, lasting transformation using what they already have.
