Prestige 2pk Review

Hello guys,

Firstly, I am hoping you are all staying safe and healthy during this challenging period. Last month was a pretty taught time for me as I received the Prestige 2pk models and had to do training and still be able to have your orders ready on time. An announcement I would like to make is that I will be flying and representing the Prestige 2kp brand in future competitions.

Flying this beautiful model led me to some observations that in turn motivated me wanting to share that with you. I had a first time experienced doing so many flights in a month in several different conditions and places. In the timespan of the previous month, I had the opportunity to visit a different field than that I usually train at, which is flat and test the Prestige 2pk along the tree lines. In order to test the model on weak thermals and dead air I preferred to visit the field early in the morning and late in the evening. I, of course, had the chance to test it on calm conditions with thermals but I also did flight it in windy weather many times.

One of the leading factors that made this model great, was the combination of low circling and penetration capabilities. After all those flights, I figured out the Prestige 2pk performed greatly in dead air, covered a good distance without losing much height and its speed was more than enough for coming home from far away while also being useful in getting away quickly from the sink.

I’m very pleased with the circling stability of the model and deeply in love with its tail (x-tail), as it adds a great effect. The big rudder can give you a solid boost of energy when you need it and it also helps you define the exact positioning of the model on long distance or due to impaired visibility situations. The Prestige 2pk model can perform a pretty tight circle helping during the plane’s climb from low height. Most importantly this model can climb FASTTTT! This plays a pivotal role because a faster ascend means fewer possibilities for pilot mistakes that may result on the compromise of the total height gain. Thus, categorizing the Prestige 2pk as somewhat of a "forgiving" model that doesn’t lose much height. That makes it particularly appealing to me!

As I previously said, I visited the field with the tree line and I attempted to play off them on windy conditions, checking the model’s ability to perform a kind of slope flight. I can comfortably state that this model is more than capable of performing such maneuvers. In other words, can use the trees in order to achieve that excess time that is needed in competition or just for the rush. Additionally, the flaps are more than enough for the coveted 50 points or generally for the landing.

Regarding the manufacture, SAMBA Model has done a great job as the surface of the model is shinny and strong enough. A top quality plane! I would only a slightly bigger canopy hole but that doesn’t seem to be a problem with a little sanding right and left, so you can fit all the popular lipo batteries. Btw, our batteries Tattu R-Line just need 2mm. of sanding to fit perfectly in the nose.

I still need time to connect more with the plane and learn with it but I’m really hyped about my new models. Nevermind the competitions being closed and the European F5J Championship also being rumored to be, in which I was chosen to represent the Greek National Team, it’s now time to put my head down and focus on training.

Thank you for your time
