"Jungle" from Phantasy Star Online Episode I & II is back for PSO2's Emergency Quest "In the Driving Rain 3", in it's original dynamic glory - and complete with brand new unce-unce-unce beats for PSE Burst, just like the rest of PSO2's dynamic field BGM. I just had to record it in case they didn't release an official soundtrack version. This is my favourite PSO1 song so it made me super happy to hear them finally use it in some form in PSO2, even if it isn't a full remix. The fact that they went to the effort to make it not just dynamic again, but gave it more prompt changeover points than the original AND a PSE Burst version? Fanservice enough for me. I mixed the three versions of the song into one long medley here.

For those unfamiliar, this song originally comes from Phantasy Star Online: Episode II, where it was used for Gal de Val Island's fields, Central Control Area, Seaside Area, the two Jungle Areas, Mountain Area, and the two Control Towers. Exploring Gal de Val's beautiful scenery was a highlight of Episode II for sure, and I was always impressed with how this one song managed to suit five very different feeling areas so flawlessly. The stage boss of this field, Gal Gryphon, is going to be added to PSO2 soon as a throwback for the upcoming anniversary celebrations!

For those of you who haven't had the chance to play PSO2 yet, this plays on an emergency quest (limited time quests that are only available for half an hour - sometimes random, sometimes pre-scheduled), in which you must take to the first field, Forest, and fight a variety of enemies and bosses amidst a downpour of rain. Similar quests have been available at this time of year previously (hence the "3") but this is the first time that this Emergency Quest has had unique music as far as I remember (previous years just used the regular PSO2 Forest theme).
