The Wolfang GA300 Action Camera is an affordable 4K sport camera for those looking for a good GoPro alternative. And in this video, I'll take you on an overview of the main features including basic instructions and test shots. Out of the box the GA300 comes with a waterproof case and keeps the camera protected down to 40 meters. It feels very sturdy and looks pretty much like most other action cameras. As far as accessories go, there's an entire box of goodies consisting mostly different types of mounts.

But the most useful accessories to me are the 2 rechargeable batteries, 1/4 inch tripod adapter, wireless remote, micro USB charging cable and a wired microphone. As far as the battery goes, it can shoot up to 80 minutes of 4K video or about 120 minutes of 1080P. And with 2 batteries it should be enough power for most situations! The Wolfang GA300 has all the buttons in the typical places. A power button on the front, navigation buttons and speaker on the right. On the other side there's an SD card slot, HDMI output and charging port. Up on top is the shutter control button as well as an LED indicator.

The camera itself isn't waterproof so be sure to seal it in the clear case before getting it near any water! To power on, press and hold the front button for about 2 seconds. Most of the time I'll be using this with the case on but I really like the option of being able to put a tripod or other type of mount directly on the camera itself! The GA300 accepts memory cards up to 128GB with a write speed above U3 to avoid issues with 4K video recording.

The 2-inch screen on the back comes in handy while framing shots but it's also a touchscreen! Of course the only way you can use the touch controls is when it's out of the waterproof cover. But it does make navigating menus easier this way. I like snapping on the included 1/4 inch tripod adapter. And I'm pretty much going to leave this on all the time because for me it's the most useful accessory for the way I'm going to use the camera. It allows me to attach things like a Fat Gecko suction cup mount and other gadgets.

In the video I made a few test shots from my car and having the wireless remote made shooting on the go really easy! The remote already comes paired to the camera and to snap a photo just press the red button. And to start video recording press the gray button. It's super easy to use and when using the remote, there's no need to change the camera to photo or video mode first.

The Wolfang GA300 can also be connected to a smartphone using it's built-in WiFi hub. To do this download and install the iSmart DV app for iPhone or Android. To start press the top WiFi button on the side of the camera. And in a few seconds the camera name and password will show up on the screen. Now on the phone, go to WiFi settings and when the name of the camera shows up... tap on it. Here enter the password shown on the GA300 and tap Join. In a few seconds I can confirm it's connected.

Now launch the iSmart DV app and tap on Add Camera. Then tap on WiFi Connect. The cool thing is that now I can use my phone as a viewfinder while shooting! This is really helpful because there are lots of times where I can't see the screen because of the placement of the camera. I can also browse photos and videos stored on the memory card and transfer them directly to my phone if needed. A very useful feature if I want to quickly share clips on social media!

I'm very happy with the performance and features of the Wolfang GA300. It's priced right at about $120 and I've listed here it in the description so it's easy for you to find! But here are some final notes. For better audio recording, the included lavalier microphone can help! But it can only be used without the waterproof case. And this probably isn't a huge issue but the latch on the case doesn't have a locking tab on it. Which means all you have to do is pull up on the latch to open it. Again this isn't necessarily a problem but it's worth pointing out. Overall the Wolfang GA300 would be an excellent action camera for vacations and everyday use!
