Someone underwent otoplasty surgery 25 days ago. Permanent stitches were used to shape the ears and no cartilage was removed. Swelling and numbness have dissipated and overall shape looks good, except for the top parts of the ears which are still touching the head. They want to know how soon the ears should start going back to a more natural-looking position.

New York oculoplastic and reconstructive surgeon Amiya Prasad, M.D. reviews their concerns in this video, and explains how ear cartilage has memory that is sometimes possible for shifting to occur after surgery:

2:12 — Dr. Prasad details his background training in cosmetic oculofacial plastic and reconstructive surgery, as well as his experience performing otoplasty surgery in his practice
