Dispute over Kanungu school ownership turns violent

Riots and demonstrations broke out in Kanungu over the ownership of Kirima primary school.

The wrangle is between former Kinkizi East MP Dr Hamlet Kabushenga and Child to family community Development organization (CHIFCOD).

Over the weekend, Dr Kabushenga was denied entry to the school premises but later forcefully entered the premises leading to the confrontation.

It is said that Dr Kabushenga resigned from administering CHIFCOD, which is the founding body of the school.

The school is now under new administration.
