Badrinath Dham -: Shri Badrinath Dham's doors opened amid chants of Jaikaras and Vedic mantras, auspicious start of the pilgrimage for six months.

Badrinath Dham: Amidst a unique confluence of faith, devotion and belief, today on 04 May 2025 at 06 am on the auspicious Muhurta, the doors of Shri Badrinath Dham dedicated to Lord Vishnu were opened for the devotees. With this, this year's Shri Badrinath Dham Yatra was formally started.

On the auspicious Muhurta, the Tirtha priests performed the Puja with full rituals and Vedic chants. Amidst the presence of heavy security forces and the melodious tune of drums and army bands, thousands of devotees present raised slogans of 'Jai Badri Vishal' and 'Badrinath Bhagwan Ki Jai', due to which the entire Badrinath Dham complex became devotional. Thousands of devotees from across the country and abroad witnessed this divine and holy moment of Kapadodghatan.

Before Kapadodghatan, Shri Badrinath temple was decorated with about 15 tonnes of colourful and fragrant flowers, which added to the beauty of the temple. Since morning, special worship was performed in the temple by the chief priest of Shri Badrinath Dham, Rawal ji, Dharmadhikari and Vedpathis. As per rituals, Mata Lakshmi was taken out of the sanctum sanctorum and after doing the parikrama of the temple, she was seated in the Lakshmi temple. Thereafter, Lord Kuber ji and Uddhav ji were seated in the sanctum sanctorum of Badri Vishal temple. On the auspicious moment, the Chaturbhuj (four-armed) idol of the Lord was separated from the traditionally removed ghee blanket and was duly anointed (bathed) and attractively adorned. Now for the next six months, devotees will be able to have the divine darshan of Uddhav, Kuber, Narad and Nar Narayan along with the Chaturbhuj idol of the Lord in Baikunth Dham every day. Along with the main temple, the doors of Ganesh, Ghatakarna, Adi Kedareshwar and Adi Guru Shankaracharya temple and Mata Murti temple situated in the Badrinath Dham temple parikrama have also been opened for the devotees for this yatra.
