First Southbound Run! Caltrain Electric Train

After many months of testing, on August 11th, 2024, Caltrain finally introduced electric trains into service and making the public ride them for the very first time. Train #228 was the first southbound electric train run, and I rode it between 22nd Street and Palo Alto. I was recording on the upper level, and it is more quieter on the upper level than the lower/middle levels. This is just the beginning for electric trains for Caltrain, as there were only 2 electric trains that day, and by 9/21 all diesel trains will be gone and be fully replaced with electric trains between SF and SJ. Overall the ride was comfortable and smooth, with many foamers and railfanners on board throughout this train set talking about these new trains. I look forward to ride more electric train sets in the near future.
