The South African Border War is often considered one of the most intense conflicts in Africa during the sporadic Cold War. This low-intensity conflict was largely comprised of asymmetric warfare, that occurred in South West Africa from 26 of August, 1966 until 21 of March, 1990. Where South African troops from the SADF, countered communist-backed forces comprising of Cubans, Angolans, Soviet advisors, Chinese, and communist bloc countries.
