My wife Akanksha and I had been friends for the longest time and even though I had feelings for her, I was scared of telling her about them. But then, once the realisation dawned on her, she understood it quickly! For me, you know what’s love? Her presence.”

Known today for his iconic portrayal of Munna Tripathi in Mirzapur, a character that had become a cornerstone of Indian web series lore, as a child when Divyenndu was asked what he wanted to be, his response was ‘hero’. And today, little Divyenndu has achieved that hero status—with his versatility and talent!

Partaking in plays and theatre during school and college days, it was during college that Divyenndu realised he needed to take up acting professionally. And so after college, he went to study at Film and Television Institute of India, ‘the’ institute for anyone aspiring to work in the film industry.

While he dreamt of doing just arthouse films and being a certain kind of actor, Divyenndu’s journey has been quite different from what he expected. After struggling for work in Bombay, an advertisement gave him the break he needed—it also gave him his first film! And from Liquid to Omi, and Munna Tripathi to the recent Dodo, Divyenndu’s versatility and talent shines through!
