Скачать или смотреть Stranger Things' first 5 minutes: Addressing the sexual assault theme and homophobia toward Will

I made this because many people including SA (sexual assault) survivors have pointed out the undeniable abuse and SA imagery in the first 5 minutes of Stranger Things 5, and I've seen a small subset of people attack those who point this out. That is NOT okay. There needs to be normalization of frank discussion and recognition of SA and child SA.
I discuss the SA imagery and what it means for Will's story arc in Season 5. Then I address many viewers' SUDDEN realization that Will "isn't weak"(!), a belief rooted in homophobia.
EDIT: To educate people, Sexual Assault doesn't necessarily include sexual gratification for the assailant; it is about power and violation of body autonomy. If you felt disgust watching that scene, it is because of its sexual nature (penetration). Plus, Will literally gets IMPREGNATED in this scene (he coughs up the slug at the end of s1), and a 2-foot-long snake is pulled out of his throat. On whether Lonnie could have committed CSA against Will if he's not gay... (CW: Childhood SA) One thing a homophobic dad would do to try to "scare the gay" out of his son, would be to give a traumatizing gay sexual experience.
