In his own words - From the fan, Don M, who created this masterpiece.

"I am an avid Giants football fan and also a retired cabinet maker. I have a scaled down model of the old Giant Stadium of which I am very proud. With the exception of showing it to other Giant fans and friends in my area, I have not publicized it yet. People who have seen this say there is absolutely nothing like it. They simply say 'WOW! This should be on TV or in magazines or newspapers.' I haven't told anyone in the media about this. It has been in the construction state for approximately 1 1/2 years. The only construction ideas I got were from demolition pictures on the internet. I kept the construction fairly close to scale except when limited by the area in which it was built (my two-car garage). Most materials were made out of wood - mahogany and poplar - 3/8" Baltic Birch, 1/32" plexiglass for the covers of the escalators (I used this because I wanted the escalators to be seen because of all the work that went into them). The stadium lighting was quite a challenge; bulbs had to be wired in parallel in sockets - very difficult at this scale.

After the stadium was finished I decided that I would like to have a trolley car from New York City to the stadium (as I always thought that might be a good idea). I also put a backdrop of a 16' x 7' mural of the New York skyline. I also have installed working elevators from the trolley station to the ground level of the stadium. As you will note, I have all four Super Bowl victories of the Giants with pictures of the stars, some autographed.

I have been fortunate enough to be retired for the past 25 years and have over a thousand lineal feet of garden railroad, 6 working waterfalls, a working windmill, and a working lighthouse on my property.

I never wanted the public on my property; however, now that I am 74 years old, I would like some recognition for my accomplishments. The stadium is on the grounds of my deli (Doghouse Bagel & Deli 141 RT 94 Blairstown NJ 07825). For people who want to view it on weekends, a $10 fee is charged. With that comes a $5 voucher to the deli and of course the viewing of the stadium itself. It can be seen during the week by appointment only. Call (908)-878-8161"

I felt honored to work with Don and Janice on this video. It was cool to hear the story behind the replica stadium as well as all the work that went into its construction. The most amazing thing to me is that it was constructed entirely from demolition pictures and memories of being at the stadium.

The amount of detail involved with this project was overwhelming, but hopefully the video captures the essence of it as best it can without actually being there in person."
