Registering for corporate tax in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) involves a structured process, and I’m here to guide you through it. 🌟

1. Eligibility Check: Before diving into the registration process, ensure that you meet the eligibility criteria. Corporate tax registration is mandatory for certain entities and can also be voluntary based on specific circumstances. For instance, both natural persons (individuals) and legal persons (such as Public Joint Stock Companies or government bodies) may need to register.
2. Access the EmaraTax Portal: The Federal Tax Authority (FTA) manages tax-related processes through the EmaraTax portal. Here’s how to get started:
Visit the EmaraTax portal at eservices.tax.gov.ae.
Log in using your registered email address and password.
3. Create a Taxable Person:
If you don’t find any existing taxable persons listed, create a new one.
Select the appropriate taxable person from the list and click ‘View’ to access the dashboard.
4. Register for Corporate Tax:
Within the Taxable Person dashboard, locate the “Corporate Tax” tile.
Click on the “Register” button to initiate the corporate tax registration process.
5. Complete the Application:
You’ll need to provide information in several key sections:
Entity Details: Specify the type of entity (e.g., LLC, PJSC, etc.) and other relevant details.
Identification Details: Include the trade license number and other identification information.
Main License Details: Provide details about your business license.
Business Activities: Describe the nature of your business activities.
Owner Details: Information about the owners or shareholders.
Contact Details: Ensure accurate contact information.
Authorized Signatory: Details of the authorized signatory for tax matters.
6.Review and Declaration:
Carefully review all the information you’ve entered.
Make any necessary corrections.
Confirm your declaration.
7. Submit the Application:
Once you’ve completed all sections, submit the application for review.
8. Correspondences:
Keep an eye on your email for any communication from the FTA regarding your application. They may request additional documents or provide further instructions.
