In our UK schools, we do NOT have separate Special Ed classes.
There is no outside provision.
There is nowhere else to send them.
The SEND children are in class, at ALL times.
Which can sometimes mean 50% of the Mainstream Class have Special Educational Needs.
So, how did I manage their behaviour, needs, and help them make progress within their learning for 15 years?
(This is a HUGE topic) so hang in here with me.

💫1. Visual Timetable,
2.Individual Timetables,
3.PECS or Visual representation of thoughts and feelings,
4. Routines and structure as rigid as possible,
5.Cater and adapt the curriculum
6. Check their chairs (see my video about this)
7. Calming and grounding activity breaks,
8. Work trays for predictability of work, expectations and the day ahead.
