★ UPDATE ★
There are so many timer scripts is insane. I will be create a OBS Countdown tutorial 2.0 in the near future. There are so many options it's ridiculous.

The first part of the tutorial touches on how to add an image source to a newly created scene. Upon adding a new image, a filter is added to adjust things like brightness, contrast, and much more. Scott decides to reduce the overall brightness so that a text source will have a higher contrast for the viewer.

The next part is to add text. There are many parameters for this part of the video, but the most critical aspect is the text size. Make the text too small, and there will be problems with clarity if you size up the text after creating it. It's always best to create text as large as you can and size it down versus small to large. Text color gradients, stoke, and shadow are also covered in this source type.

The best part of this OBS Studio tutorial is the setup of a timer script. This script will use a specified text source as the timer and Scott covers all three parameters like the length of time, and what message is displayed with the timer reaches zero. You will be shown how to control the view size of the timer so that hours and minutes can be hidden. The script has some limitations there are workarounds, and they will be clearly explained in the video.
