I have known Meenu for more than ten years. I remember I met her at a fair and wanted to buy a bag holder with pegs for my handbags and she was sold out on it. So she asked me to visit her workshop because she had another piece. That was it! After that, I was never the same person. I have close to 8 or 10 pieces from her in my home. (sheesh! it just dawned on me that I could have included the images of the furniture that I have from her in this video!)
Meenu has a mix of things in her workshop. Authentic vintage and antique furniture that is restored, reproductions of antique furniture made from old wood and custom-made pieces by mixing antique pieces with old wood and creating a completely unique piece. You can ask he about the piece that interests you and you can be sure that you will get the correct information.
Meenu is also one of the very few places in Bangalore that sells these pieces at affordable prices. You can get vintage chairs starting 12500/-, cupboards starting 28000/- and smaller pieces start from 1500/- or so. Restoration of furniture is pretty expensive and very few carpenters work with old teak wood. Despite that, I find her to be the most affordable and that's how most of the furniture in my home is from her.
