Pile turners have an important role in a company as they speed up production and make work safer.

Toppy has spent years doing deep research in the paper converting and packaging industry, and we are proud to say that we have come up with solutions that can be used in line and meet the different needs of our customers.

Twister 1600 is a stationary tipper that manages paper platforms up to a weight of 1800 kg through tipping, vibration, and ventilation operations. This stacker system can be directly fixed to the ground, as it does not necessarily need to be supplied with installation pits and the platforms are perfectly aligned with the base.

The pallet is inserted by means of a forklift truck or man-operated vehicle, in any case the operator must position the pallet frontally (blowing chamber). Now the Twister pile turner is ready to start the work program, allowing the stack of paper/cardboard to be inserted into the machine.

The operator can select a program from the relevant control panel, according to needs. Different programs are available, from the stack turning-only program to the most complete program that uses the air turbine and vibrating bench to process the paper/cardboard stack. The Twister pile turner can be supplied in a semi-automatic version, where the presence of the operator is necessary during the entire processing stage.
The pile turner in this video is completely automatic version which means it is fitted with a programmable “PLC system” and the operator does not need to be present during processing.

The synchronised platforms of the Toppy Twister pile turner start moving until they reach the photocells that measure the height of the load; after a 90° turn on the vertical axis and a 90° rotation of the cardboard pallet, the processing stage begins.
Toppy Twister can process 12 pallets per hour due to the multiple rotations of the pallets. The machine is positioned perpendicular to the line and the software will select the pallets that need processing, pull them out of the line and into the Twister while the line continues to work regularly. Because of the lifting and twisting of the stack and return to the initial frontal position, the Twister is a great option as a stand-alone machine when there is limited floor space.

The Twister 1600 AJ comes with jogging and aerating units with blowers and air-nozzles, in order to carry out the following additional tasks :

Centering the pile on the pallet when equipped with a centering device
Aligning of the sheets through the use of an aligning gauge
Accelerating the drying process of printed products
Separating sticking sheets prior to the printing process
Remoming waste sheets
Easy Pallet exchange by hand, which includes replacement of wooden pallets with system pallets for the non-stop pallet process

This all leads to a better finished product.

When ordering a stand- alone machine, we simply offer a manual and a link to a video, as installation is fairly easy and can be done by the local technicians. For machines that are part of the logistic flow of the line, the client can purchase a package that can include installation and start-up of the equipment as well as in-house training of the staff that will be able to recognize patterns and errors and the type of maintenance that needs to be done.
The PLC software enables us to access serial-based devices attached to our network. We will be directly connected to the PLC of the client’s pile turner so that we can offer immediate help without the support of the operator. The PLC will recognize problems and patterns before failure of the machine by collecting all data and parameters.
