When I began my journey to Financial Independence after learning about the FIRE movement (Financial Independence Retire Early) I was discouraged. For a long period of time it seemed like nothing was happening. Even though I was diligently saving and investing my money in the stock market, I wasn't seeing results immediately.

The force of compound interest is a unique one to say the least. Perhaps the most striking feature of this force is the exponential curve which it results in. At the beginning of this curve, it seems like no progress is being made. But with enough patience and dedication, the later portion of the exponential curve can explode.

When investing in the stock market as a beginner or starting your own journey to financial freedom, the difference between your expectations versus reality can be a major hindrance. But if you can stay the course, your personal finances will level up.
