The Belize Trade and Investment Development Service (BELTRAIDE) in collaboration with the Office of the Prime Minister is hosting its second Elevator Pitch Competition for small businesses. Fifteen businesses will have the opportunity to pitch to a panel at the upcoming Belize Investment Summit in September, and those successful will receive funds to expand their business. Nikki Augustine, Marketing and Communications Manager for BELTRAIDE, explained that the competition is catering to business from three specific profiles, disadvantaged and vulnerable groups (including women and youths), maturing enterprises, and exporters.

Business pitching in the vulnerable population’s category should be new business or those operating for up to two years. Those pitching in the maturing enterprise category should be operating for up to three years, and those pitching in the export category should be operating more than three years.
