Making a Kilt for my dad and rambling about kiltmaking

For the last year I've been learning to become a kiltmaker at the Edinburgh Kiltmakers Academy, here is my final test as a student, a hand stitched kilt in the Davidson of Tulloch tartan, tailor made for my dad. I can now professionally make kilts!

I chose to take a different approach than what I usually do with the editing of this video, it's more history focused than it is making focused and that is for the simple reason that kiltmaking is surprisingly complicated! And I very much recommend doing a kiltmaking course or an apprenticeship if kiltmaking is something that you're interested in! Instead I wanted to inspire you to learn about the history and craft in and of itself. It's such an interesting subject!


In the middle I derail and go on a bit of a tangent on Trevor-Roper, he is my nemesis...
